1. TUNNEL OF TREES ROAD

This is the road for you if you enjoy trees. The Tunnel of Trees Road, which runs along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, is one of the state’s most famous attractions. M-119 begins in Petoskey’s north end, but it isn’t officially known as The Tunnel of Trees until it reaches Harbor Springs. The state route narrows dramatically after that, travelling for 20 miles along a magnificent bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. On this wonderful motorcycling road in Michigan, keep an eye out for particularly sharp curves at Devil’s Elbow and Horseshoe Curve.

The picturesque Lake Huron shoreline is encircled by this open Michigan motorcycling road. Along Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, there are various State Parks to visit. The road quality is generally decent along this route, and traffic is generally moderate.

This Michigan motorbike journey gives spectacular views of Lake Heron. There are a few extremely nice state parks towards the top of the ‘Thumb’ where you can get a better perspective of the lake. The rest of the journey, from Port Huron to the point, has some twisty parts, with plenty of trees, gorgeous plots of land, and worthwhile stops along the way.

6. RIDE THROUGH HELL

A “Ride Through Hell” may sound unpleasant, but it is actually rather enjoyable! Begin this hour-long Michigan motorbike journey from Ann Arbor, following the Huron River through Hell. As you loop up Patterson Loop Road and down Hadley Rd, the road pavement quality is excellent. Waterloo Rd and Seymour Rd take you a little further west to the Waterloo neighbourhood. The Hell, Michigan area has some fantastic riding, and these nearby routes are well worth checking out.
7. US-41 TO COPPER HARBOR

Check out US-41 to Copper Harbor for a fantastic motorbike road ride to the state’s northernmost point. This Michigan motorbike tour takes you over tree-lined roads with plenty of twists and turns. As of 2022, much of US-41 has high pavement quality. The main roadways are notably well-kept, resulting in a pleasant journey. You’ll be treated to spectacular views along the Keweenaw Bay, as well as rides through some charming small villages and lengthy stretches of peaceful isolation. One of the nicest motorcycle rides in northern Michigan is up to Copper Harbor. You might feel compelled to turn around and do it all over again.
