Between Smithsburg and Union Bridge, this east-west Maryland motorcycle road winds its way through the densely forested Catoctin Mountain Park, and going west provides some spectacular views of the mountain range. The drive east of the park provides straight open road vistas.

From Sabillasville to Libertytown, this section of motorcycling route in northern Maryland offers some variety, with clear open fields and twists through Catocctin Mountain Park’s forest. Continuing north on this route will lead you to some wonderful back roads in Pennsylvania’s State Parks and Forests.

3. ST. MARY’S RIVER LOOP
