1. ROUTE 9

  • DISTANCE: 50 miles
  • TIME: 1 hour 10 min

Take DE-9 south along the shore of northern Delaware after picking up this Delaware motorcycle road at First State National Historic Park. Along the way, you’ll pass by a number of wildlife refuges and farmlands. The straights are stunning, allowing riders to let go and take in the scenery.

2. DELAWARE COASTAL HIGHWAY

While the majority of this DE motorbike route is a straight shot, you’ll pass through State Park beaches and Wildlife Refuge areas, as well as charming seaside villages. Redden State Park, a forest with a historical lodge that was originally a hunting resort for railroad executives, is accessible via Route 113. The 18 tracts of Redden State Forest, with approximately 44 miles of trails, are popular for hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, and bird viewing.

4. BRANDYWINE VALLEY LOOP

This classic Delaware motorbike journey will take you around the northern tip of the state and into Pennsylvania. Some of the sweepers are rapid and have elevation changes. Although Rt 82 is a narrow road, you’ll appreciate the twists and bends as well as the views of the stream. Rt 100 opens up, providing a stunning perspective of the surrounding landscape. Change the northern portion of the loop to Rt 842 instead of Rt 926 for a longer ride with more sights.
